SOLD AT PAN HANDLE PLAINS MUSEUM – DIX BAINES FINE ARTIST
March 28, 2011BOULDER VIEW-DIX BAINES FINE ARTIST
March 21, 2011For those that live in Colorado, these are the kind of sunsets we have the opportunity to see everyday. Some days they are orange, such as in “Boulder View” and other days pink and other days yellow. Over the years, during the hours of sunsets, the Baines’ family can often be found in the middle of our street enjoying the beauty of the sunsets. Take a minute today and marvel at the beauty that surrounds us. Kathlyn Gogarty-Baines
When Dix Baines stepped away from a full-time job as a Project Designer in a design firm, to pursue a career as an artist, he told me one day that he never wanted to paint, as he put it, “girls in pink dresses”. In other words, he wanted to paint from life; everywhere and everything. He had and still has no interest in revisiting the same subject over and over, rather wanting to try his hand at painting the world before him. This goal has taken him to many locations where he has visited images from the Southwest Churches, to the vistas of the land to, the fish in mountain streams. No matter what the subject, he strives to express the images through paint with accuracy and honesty. -Kathlyn Gogarty-Baines

HAYDEN HAYS GALLERY-DIX BAINES FINE ARTIST
March 17, 2011Rocky Mountain National Park is such an amazing place. With the light of the sun setting in the Colorado sky, it is even more so. This painting just sold at the Hayden Hays Gallery in Colorado Springs. They have only represented Dix’s work for a short time, but have done a great job and have had several paintings sell. We look forward to working with them for years to come.
